Ann Byle is a freelance writer, book author, and chicken owner. She blends creativity and journalist’s sensibility in her newest book, Chicken Scratch. She lives in West Michigan with her family of humans and animals.
Long bio
Ann Byle is a freelance writer who currently writes for Publishers Weekly, Grand Rapids Magazine, and other publications. She began her career writing book jacket and catalog copy before working as book review editor for The Grand Rapids Press. From there she wrote marketing copy for Our Daily Bread Ministries before beginning her freelance career in 1997.
She has cowritten books, among them (with Bethany Hamilton) is Soul Surfer Devotions, The Edge of Redemption, and When Angels Fight.
Ann is author of her own books as well, including The Baker Book House Story, Christian Publishing 101, and The Revell Story. With three other freelance writers she has written The Joy of Working at Home: Embracing the Freedom, Avoiding the Pitfalls (an ebook).
Ann lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with her husband, Ray, a high school science teacher, and their husky/hound brown/blue-eyed dog/hellion, one crabby cat, and four chickens. Their four young-adult children are in and out regularly. She loves to read, knit, thrift, and puzzle.
